Wychavon borders the Malvern Hills district to the east and is the largest of the six Worcestershire districts. It contains the three towns of Droitwich Spa, Evesham and Pershore and nearly 100 hamlets and villages including Broadway, the gateway to the Cotswolds. The district covers 256 square miles and is home to approximately 123,000 people, living in 52,000 households. Wychavon employs approximately 250 people, predominantly based at our main council offices in Pershore.
The current political makeup of the Council is as follows:
Councillor Bradley Thomas is the Council Leader, and also holds the portfolio for Planning, Transport and Infrastructure.
Wychavon is working towards delivering its four-year strategy, launched in 2016, which confirms our overarching ambition to be an outstanding, innovative council delivering great services and making life better for everyone in Wychavon. We will achieve this by delivering our three priorities:
Wychavon has a long history of adopting an entrepreneurial approach to deliver the best value for our community. This has seen us deliver a number of flagship projects that include the building of Pershore Hospital and a Waitrose store in Droitwich and Evesham. Sound financial investments have helped build the council’s resilience and capacity to deliver better outcomes for our residents.
